Hi, Please can someone explain why we are restricting our District to only 'males and females'? As we are a movement which is proud to be inclusive regardless of gender and/or sexual orientation, surely this needs updating to reflect everyone? The sample below has been copied directly from the Urmston and District Website. www.urmstonanddistrictscouts.co.ukThis can be upsetting to those people who do not identify as male or female as they can feel that they are being 'shut out' from joining. It's important that in Scouts all young people and adults feel welcome, included and valued for who they are. Be aware that someone who is LGBT+ may have experienced discrimination or bullying in other areas of their life. Therefore it is ever more important that scouting creates a positive, supportive environment which actively celebrates difference. www.scouts.org.uk/search?term=gender%20identity also read www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/inclusion-and-diversity/including-everyone/Please can someone update the archaic looking website and bring it to the 2020's as it is so boring? Yours in Scouting Bill Outhwaite 3rd Davyhulme (THE SECTIONS Urmston & District have sections which cater for males and females from the age of 6 years old.)
